Buffalo Grove, IL asked in Traffic Tickets for Illinois

Q: I got supervision Jan of 2019 and again in Oct 2019. Got a ticket Oct 2020 does my first supervision count?

Can I get supervision again since it’s been a year, I’m not sure about the exact date, but since it’s been more than a year since my January ticket can I ask for for TSS and supervision again? Since I got a second ticket in October 2019z Does my January 2019 supervision count when trying to get supervision for my ticket in 2020

A: You are technically allowed two Court Supervisions every twelve months, but there is no guarantee you will receive Court Supervision on a third ticket so close to your prior two. The Judge has the discretion to deny another Court Supervision. If you mail in the ticket and request Court Supervision, you will absolutely be denied. You need to appear in Court and request Court Supervision. Your odds of receiving Court Supervision on this third ticket will increase with an attorney by your side. The sooner you hire an attorney, the better.
