A: You have 30 days to respond to a complaint. But not knowing anything about the case, you would be very wise to hire an attorney to help you out.

A: When served with a divorce petition, you have thirty days to file an Answer with the Court. You must serve a copy of the Answer on your spouse's attorney - it would also be a good idea to keep a copy for your records. My recommendation would be to immediately seek the assistance of an attorney in responding to a divorce petition, especially if the divorce involves children and/or disputes regarding property.
