Q: Court reschedule for cell phone ticket due to COVId in March. Court house Informed notify of reschedule. Date not sent
Yesterday got pulled over for seatbelt. My court date had not been sent to me for prior ticket in March and a FTA issue and license suspended. The trrooper was so rude and disrespectful, threatening to arrest me because of FTA and license suspension. I didn't know court transpired or even reschedule because of ongoing pandemic. My boyfriend and child father passed away 2 month ago and I am unemployed due to pandemic. I wanted to ask court for leniency in payment due to circumstances of unemployment in March because I did not even receive my backpay from unemployment until July . my fine is 140 bucks and I am the sole parent and have to have transportation. It seems rather unfair as this is a cell phone ticket and pandemic crisis is continuing to effect our community. I had read where the courts were overcrowded and delayed.
A: It was your responsibility to maintain contact with the Court Clerk and find out when Court is scheduled. Now you need an attorney to straighten it all out. It will only get worse with suspended license violations. You must take a much more serious attitude toward your criminal charges.
