Q: I went 90 mph in a 60 mph highway. I got pulled over and got no ticket but got court and I dont know what to do.
A: Because it is a criminal offense (with a mandatory court appearance), having an attorney is recommended. Aggravated speeding 26-34 mph over the limit is a class b misdemeanor. Technically, it is punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a $1500 fine. Depending on certain factors, it may be possible to keep this off of your record and significantly reduce the penalties. Contact an attorney that practices in the courthouse where your case is assigned. Most of us offer free consultations.

A: 30 mph over the posted speed limit is a Class A Misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to 6 months in jail and up to $1,500.00 in fines not including mandatory assessments. If you receive a conviction on such a charge, it will show up on background checks for the rest of your life and cause you issues with employment, education, housing and financing. You must hire an attorney to assist you with this matter. That attorney, at the very least, will attempt to have this ticket amended to a Petty Offense, but that attorney needs time to work on your case, so hire on now.
