Normal, IL asked in Traffic Tickets for Illinois

Q: Will my license get suspended? I’m 16 and this is my first offense.

I was given a ticket for going over the speed limit at 23 MPH. The ticket does say court is not required. Will my license get suspended.

A: You are allowed two moving violation convictions every 24 months when you are under 21. I do not suggest just paying this ticket. Even though the ticket is marked No Appearance Required, you must appear in court and request Court Supervision at the very least. You will be required to pay a higher fine and complete Traffic Safety School but this will not be a conviction. If you are still confused, you need to have your parents hire an attorney to assist you with this matter right away.
