A: Criminal Impersonation is defined under CRS 18-5-113. Absent aggravating circumstances or other enhancements, this is usually a class 6 felony punishable by a potential prison range between 12-18 months. That is not to say prison is going to be what the DA seeks on a case of Impersonation, but is simply the worst case scenario.

This is a very general advisement. Your father in law is certainly going to need an experienced attorney to assess his best options.
