Douglasville, GA asked in Child Support for Georgia

Q: my sons dad has a support order against him since 2005, what can i do to proceed enforcement action thru child support?

child support barely does anything. he owes $21,241.50 in back child support & would only pay to reinstate his license when he has to go to court. when he is arrested on other charges they hold him till he pays a certain amount. but now getting him served papers hasn't been successful. he never answers the door. he does work & i informed child support of his place of employment. me & the father are on talking terms. my son is 17 now & i feel child support isn't enforcing the support order like they should. what can i do to proceed in getting this done?

A: You don't have to go through child support enforcement. You can hire a private attorney to file for contempt.
