Q: I have been married for 31 years been separated for about 6 years can I get wife alimony our younger son turn 18
A: Your son's age has nothing to do with whether you can get alimony.
A: Spousal support, alimony, is based on need and ability to pay. As such, whether or not you have a claim for alimony would depend upon your income and your spouse's income as well as whether or not you have a need and your spouse has a corresponding ability to pay. In terms of length of marriage, a marriage over 17 years is considered a long term marriage and spousal support can very well be a viable issue in a long term marriage.
