Monroe, GA asked in Child Support for Georgia

Q: I’ve been paying $600 a month for child support for 2 kids. My daughter moved in with me so do I pay my ex any money?

$600 for 2 kids then when my daughter meets the requirements there is no support for her. Then I pay $428 for just my son. Since she moved in with me and it’s supposed to be $600 for 2 kids do I pay my ex any money or since I have a kid living with me and my ex has a kid living with her does it cancel each other out?

A: You still owe the full amount unless and until you get a court order of modification. Consult with an attorney about filing a modification.

A: Paying the child support was a court order that you will have to follow until it has been legally changed. Consult with an attorney on guidance for getting it changed. Until then you will still owe the $600 per month.
