Atlanta, GA asked in Domestic Violence for Tennessee

Q: So I was charged with Domestic Assault in Sevierville, TN. and I am just wondering, can the charge can be expunged?

I have read in a plethora of places that in TN. they will not expunge a domestic assault charge. I just don’t want to spend unnecessary money on a lawyer if the outcome will stay the same either way. The only reason I would hire a lawyer and spend that money is if I thought they could get it expunged. Also, it was just a shoving match between my sister and I, essentially. Neither of us had any damage, aside from where she hit her head on the night stand when she climbed on top of me. (She even told the cops that, I have the bodycam footage.) But she didn’t press the charges, the arresting cop did and then the state picked it up. Sooo, my sister isn’t even going to testify or be at any of the court dates.

A: That charge is worse than many felonies. Hire a cometent attorney today and do not plead guilty under any circumstances other than Diversion. DA Convictions cannot be

expunged and are guaranteed to destroy your life.
