A: All I can recommend is for you to keep contacting different attorneys. Every attorney charges differently. But at the end of the day, this is a business. Litigation is expensive, and without a substantial retainer up front, that is all money coming out of the lawyer's pocket.

Think of it from a lawyer's perspective, or that of any small business owner: if you don't pay, or at least until you do pay, that lawyer has no income - no money to put food on their family's table or a roof over the head. And once a lawyer is on the case, they typically need to stay on until the end. Very few people would accept, or could afford to accept, employment under the conditions that you work for 4-6 months before you get your check.
