Asked in Criminal Law and Domestic Violence for Tennessee

Q: What to do if I was pressured into a statement?

I was in the shower and my husband was asleep when police arrived. They said they got a call for a welfare check. They noticed I had marks on my neck( spotty from shower). They questioned me and I tried to explain but they asked to speak to my daughter who is 5 and she started talking about us fighting . The police instantly started talking about dcs and telling me that I was endangering my children. Started accusing me of child abuse. I wrote a statement so they wouldn’t take my children and now I am unsure what to do? I panicked when I wrote the statement and tried to take it back once I realized they couldn’t take my children but was told I’d be charged with a felony.
