Q: probation in louisiana for 5 years, did 3 1/2 of those years successfully but then left the state. arrested for vop
my husband was arrested here in Florida for a vop warrant out of louisiana. his probation would have ended in 2020 , now he is waiting to see if louisiana is going to extradite him. if violated will he have to back up his original sentence of 5 years or will he get credit for the 3 1/2 years he did complete on probation
A: He will get extradicted...eventually. It is up to probation dept and the judge as to whether he has to back up full sentence. When he gets to Louisiana, hire a criminal attorney. In the mean time, put together documentation about why he had to leave the state.
