Ann Arbor, MI asked in Personal Injury for Michigan

Q: My child's school's foodservice company sold my child food containing gluten can we file a lawsuit?

The school system is providing free meals to all students this year and in order to prevent my kids obtaining gluten I submitted the required special diet form signed by our doctor. My kids don't normally have hot lunch but we felt forced to submit the form. They also have some items to buy and my son bought an item containing gluten and was not aware that it did.

A: The first question to ask when contemplating a law suit is what are the damages? Did your son suffer a reaction to the extent of being hospitalized? Law suits are expensive and unless you have some provable damages, you may want to just voice your concerns to the school administration.
