Q: My late boyfriend gave me a letter that said “last will and testament” before he committed suicide is this a legal doc?

A: I am so sorry for your loss. That is absolutely tragic.

I hate to be the bearer of more bad news, but it is not possible to answer your question without seeing the will. Every state has requirements for the proper execution of wills, typically requiring two witnesses. However, usually witnesses are not required if the will is in the handwriting of the testator. You did not say whether the "letter" was typed or handwritten.

Take the will to a probate attorney for a review as to apparent validity and to help you administer your boyfriend's estate.
