Q: I live in Georgia where my divorce proceeding took place. I am seeking to have the final decree overturned or modified.
Alimony is stated as lumpsum, non modifiable but it goes on to detail a schedule of periodic payments ending in 2026. Because of this contradiction I am asking for the modification or for it to be overturned.
A: If there is a schedule of payments that has an end date and a total discernible amount, it likely is nonmodifiable
