Q: How do I get a divorce if I don't know where my husband is. Separated 5 plus years. Married in TN but I live in GA.

We were married in TN but I live in GA. No kids or property. Separated 5 plus years. I'm not seeking alimony or spousal support

A: If you can prove you have made every effort to find your spouse, then a court here may give you a divorce by publication. Essentially after you have filled out an affidavit that proves you have attempted to find him, it will run in the paper for 6 weeks, and the divorce can be granted after that time.

A: You can hire a skip tracer to try and locate him. If all efforts fail to find him then you may be able to divorce by publication. Consult with an attorney who can help you with the process.
