Q: What is the best way to take care of a 4th degree forgery check before your arraignment can it be paid beforehand

A: It may be in your best interest to speak with an attorney prior to trying to resolve on your own. The problem with simply paying is that you could still be convicted of the offense. Hence, resolving the bad check does not mean that the crime was not committed. Therefore, the prosecutor could still move forward with the charge. By speaking with an attorney, you may find that there is some type of diversion program within the jurisdiction which allows you pay in exchange for a dismissal. It's always a good idea to have an agreement in place before taking any action. Good luck
