Asked in Traffic Tickets for Tennessee

Q: I’ve received a ticket/citation for speeding. 88/55 Violation code issued was 55-8-152. I have a court date but

There’s no fine amount written on the ticket. It’s completely blank and I have the option to pay by mail as well. Is this normal, or did the officer make a mistake? Would a judge see 88mph in a 55mph as reckless driving, class b misdemeanor, or just as speeding, class C misdemeanor? Thank you

A: If you pay it, then that is a conviction and points will be added to your MVR. You might want to hire an attorney or at least go to Court. The blank Citation is something to talk to the DA or Judge about, but it is Sessions and can be amended on the Bench. Apparently the LEO did not thing you were endangering persons/property.
