A: The common sentence depends on the degree of the charge you had and the amount of drugs as distribution has different levels depending on the drug. The most common is a 3rd or 2nd degree both of which carry jail terms. The third degree has 3 to 5 years in jail but if you have a clean record and a good lawyer jail time is not likely but still possible. If you have a 2nd degree charge jail time of 5 to 10 years is mandatory. Not that a good lawyer can't help you stay out of jail for this 2nd degree charge, but again jail time is mandatory/presumed even for first time offenders if your lawyer can't somehow downgrade the charge.

Thus, don't even think about not getting a good lawyer to help you with this charge. Most of us criminal lawyers offer a free in office consultation where you can discuss your matter privately instead of over the internet where your conversations could be monitored by the government and used against you in court. I would suggest that you set one of these consultations up ASAP if you have this charge.
