Q: What confirmation do you need to prove as an heir?
I recently found out who my father was through Ancenstry DNA which linked me to my grandmother and Aunts. My father passed away when I was young and never had the chance to know him, however, I had found out my grandfather had passed away and his estate is in probate court. I personally was not going to get involved as I never had the chance to know him while he was alive but received a letter stating his wife (at the time of his death) is denying I'm an heir of his and the attorney wants confirmation. I dont know how they even got my address but does ancestry DNA confirm enough to even be an heir? My closest matches are his sisters and my grandmother and all of my grandfathers family. I also found out I have a half brother who also came from my father.
