A: You don't give us a lot to go on so I'll begin at the beginning. Personal injury attorneys work on a contingency which means that they do not get paid unless they win. Regardless of the reason, if witnesses are claiming that you are responsible for an accident, a judge, jury, or mediator would have no choice but to find that you bear significant contributory negligence. In Indiana, if you are more than 50% negligent, your recovery is $0.00. In other words, if the case goes to a jury and the jury says that you should be awarded $200,000 but you were 70% negligent, you get $0.00. That means your attorney gets $0.00. That is why attorneys are unwilling to represent you. I hope this answers your question.
