Murfreesboro, TN asked in Criminal Law and Domestic Violence for Tennessee

Q: My husband was arrested for domestic violence. He has 4 felony charges. The case had its first grand jury hearing Nov .

At the time of arrested he was in severe psychosis. This never happened before. He has schizophrenia. I don't know if that has been considered. But when we called.for help the day of the crime, law enforcement denied assistance to mental health crisis. 2 hours later it became a crime.

At what point will I tell my side? I have dash cam footage with the officers that didn't help. I.also.have the 911 calls children explaining the mental health crisis.

Also note Mt husband was saying things in his paranoid state that should alarm any officer given there were children present.

No one will help me at all. I don't know where go. My husband needs Intensive mental health services.

Meanwhile I ask when I will be notified to side.

The domestic violence advocate aren't responding

BTW the incident occurred 8/13/22. It’s been bound over to grand jury. First hearing was 11/1

I'm the victim. And can’t afford an attorney.

A: Husband needs a competent attorney now. You all have not handled this correctly and have played into the domestic violence army's hand. Lawyer needs to prepare for a Preliminary Hearing, and you all need to not talk to anyone.
