Q: I need to know what my options are
Buying property with trailer from the owner. The agreement was pay $10kdown &$10k a year on 5/1 for a total of $40k. Owner said if we dont pay the full $10k May1st we have to give the property back. A few months after we moved in the owner who is also our neighbor started harassing & making threats demanding we pay his property taxes even though nothing of the sort was in the agreement. We were also informed that he may have made false claims to the IRS which in turn cause my fiance's audit that delayed his taxes in the hopes that we wouldn't be able to make our second payment When he found out my mother passed away he assumed I was left money so he verbally attack me in my front yard in front of my kids. Calling me & demanding $$ for his property taxes or he would not accept our payment on 5/1.Served fake eviction notices. On 2/15 he saw me leave&knew only my kids were home & he went & threatened if we don't give him $4k he is evicting in 30days & today handed one to my fiance

The issue involving whose responsibility it is to pay the property taxes should be readily resolved by reading the terms of your written agreement.
It would be highly unusual for an attorney to omit such a provision from your agreement. Even if your attorney omitted it, the seller’s attorney would have caught it.
Carefully read your agreement. Take it to your attorney. Ask questions.
