Q: What is the legal term when a parent gets a quick/rushed custody order, as the child is in danger with the other parent
A: That is an emergency hearing. The allegations have to show the the child is in imminent danger. If these allegations are met, a hearing is set within 14 days.

A: A motion to restrict parenting time is brought pursuant to C.R.S. 14-10-129(4), and is an emergency motion asking the court to prohibit all unsupervised parenting time with the children by the other parent because the children are in imminent danger of physical or emotional harm with that parent. If granted, the restriction continues until the matter can be addressed at a hearing, which must occur within 14 days. Both parties will be present at the return hearing, at which time the Court will determine whether to continue, modify, or vacate the restriction.
