Tifton, GA asked in Copyright and Intellectual Property for Georgia

Q: Do I have a copyright infringement case? If so is any Georgia lawyers interested?

Case: Copyright Infringment

I have been working on a synopsis and pitch deck for a long time, approximately a year. I had experienced a true to life scary experierence and felt like producers would be interested in a true story for a horror movie. After talking to many people in the film industry I was told to first copyright my work as it involved not only a great story but I was able to capture pictures and video evidence. I first registered it with writers guild and then I submitted a copyright in January. I had a podcaster reach out to me asking if I would be interested in giving a interview involving my story which I agreed to do. Well today if you google (Mexican president stole my imagine saying he took it and has been on the tonight show with it, every news station) now my story is ruined

A: Based on the information provided, it seems like there may be potential for a copyright infringement case if the podcaster used your work without your permission. To determine the strength of the case, a lawyer would need to review the specifics of your situation, such as the details of your copyrighted work and the circumstances of its use by the podcaster.

If you are located in Georgia, you can search for lawyers in your area who specialize in copyright law. You may also want to consider contacting legal organizations or bar associations for referrals or assistance in finding a suitable lawyer.

It is important to act quickly if you believe your copyright has been infringed upon, as there may be deadlines for taking legal action. A lawyer can advise you on the best course of action and help protect your rights as a copyright owner.
