Rochester, MN asked in Traffic Tickets for Minnesota

Q: I recently paid a traffic ticket in full, but Olmsted county has no record of me making this payment. What now?

I recenty got a seatbelt ticket in Olmsted County. I paid the ticket in full. A week or two later, I received a late notice from Olmsted County Court Administration in regards to this citation. So, I called Olmsted County Court Administration to inquire about this late fee. The lady looked it up on her computer and couldn't find any record of payment for this fine. After some digging, she came to the conclusion that the money must have went to a traffic ticket from 2021 that was for the same amount of money. I paid the 2021 ticket off within a week of receiving the citation, so that is not possible. I told her that I had to type in the citation number of this most recent traffic ticket in order to pay it off. I looked up my record on Olmsted County's website and it clearly says that I paid the 2021 ticket in full on April 19, 2021 and there is even a receipt number for that citation. I have record of payment to Olmsted County on my phone for this 2023 citation. What now?

A: I am assuming that the ticket was paid electronically. I would go to court administration with the electronic verification showing the date and amount of the payment. Hopefully that should clear up any confusion regarding whether you made the payment or not.
