Paonia, CO asked in Insurance Bad Faith for Utah

Q: Investigator came to brothers house asking for me about insurance fraud

I'm being accused of insurance fraud in Utah with car insurance? I think it's when my window broke they denied my claim. I filed it, I was out of town, got the days and times mixed up called them back thinking i had mixed the dates and times, I had just got insurance with them. The lady I spoke with sounded suspicious but I wasn't concerned due to I wasn't lying and I really didn't know when it all happened.

They spoke to my brother and said they had been trying to get a hold of me but I have no missed phone calls, no emails nothing in the mail up until they went to my brothers house. Plus I don't live in Utah anymore with this being said what should I do? I paid out of pocket once denied.

A: A Utah attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a week. Depending on the claim examiner, it's sometimes possible to resolve with clarifying the errors on the claim. But it looks like you already tried to do that. If they do not accept your explanations, one option is to take the papers they presented you with, and any allegations of fraud, and discussing with an attorney. Good luck
