Conyers, GA asked in Divorce and Family Law for Georgia

Q: question about divorce

So I just received the divorce papers from the court, and I see that my wife stated in the reason for the divorce that all the credit cards she had were fraudulently obtained by me in her name and without her knowledge or consent, but the reality is she knew about it when we were together, so my question is, if I sign the divorce, will I get in trouble?

A: If you don't agree with what the document says, you shouldn't sign it. Consult with an attorney.

A: It is unclear what documents you're talking about signing. But my best advice would be to hire your own attorney to review all paperwork, even if this is an uncontested divorce. In her petition she could have made those allegations against you. If you disagree with any allegations made, you can file an Answer. But it's unclear where she made those statements and I would advise you to sign anything where you are stating the information listed is false.
