A: Representing yourself in this case is going to greatly diminish your chances of success. A great deal of the value that an attorney brings is their knowledge and ability to introduce your evidence and tell your story in a legally allowable way. Without knowing the specifics facts of your case or the evidence that you have supporting your allegations, no one can provide you with a step by step playbook of how to win your trial. If this is important to you, I would highly suggest hiring an attorney.

A: Sir, this forum is not for an attorney to give you step by step instructions on how to represent yourself. We can't, and should not, advise someone like that who is not our client. You need to hire an attorney, to represent you. Because not only are you asking the court to legitimize, you are asking them to give you sole physical & legal custody. That's telling the court, after 5 years, the child should live with you, and you shouldn't even have to consult the mother on decisions for the child. It's going to be difficult to show the court why those things should be granted. Because we cannot provide you step by step instructions on how to present this case. You need a lawyer, ASAP.
