Q: I will be violated due to the unprofessional, unorganized , neglectful court ordered, program I attended. Can I sue them?
I attend this program, did all that was ask and was told that I would get my completion certificate next week at individual sessions and to bring what assignment n meeting I had when I go to my last appointment I'm informed my. Counselor no longer works there and come back next week and speak to whoever and they will help me. For the next 2 or 3 wks. No one shows up and they send everyone home and they tell me that I will be contacted by someone who will help me, which didn't happen. Finally a counselor attend and after session we speak and he told to give him a week to look at my file and give me my completion certificate. I gave him everything that I had that the 1st counselor asked me to do plus every meeting. Never heard a work back and won't return my or my po calls. All I'm getting is the runaround and nobody he helping me . This could violate me, due to their negulance cuz now they say my file isn't complete . That counselor has not returned my 1000 messages. What can I do
A: You did not indicate what particular program you are in, but it sounds like a pre-trial intervention program you were required to complete in order to have your charge(s) dropped. If you don't receive the certificate, you'll need to confirm in writing what has transpired with the program, then you must address the problem with the Court by filing the an appropriate motion and getting the motion set for hearing. If you cannot quickly solve this issue, it is best to hire an attorney to represent you. If you are low income, the Fla. Bar Lawyer Referral Service offers a low fee panel of attorneys.
