Q: I'm in Albuquerque new Mexico and I need a serious lawyer I still haven't been diagnosed or treated for my illness that
A ceiling fell on me while in the shower at a hotel. A housing program had me in that room for 17 weeks. That was October 2019
A: This seems to be more of a medical issue than a legal issue. Go your your PCP and, if necessary, ask for a referral to a specialist concerning the symptoms of your illness. Lawyers depend on medical experts for their opinions and conclusions regarding illnesses which may be attributable to occurrences like a ceiling falling on a person in a shower. A lawyer can probably make a case for bruises and contusions under the circumstances described, but will require medical expert testimony for anything like a long-term illness resulting from such an event. IF your PCP has been involved in your treatment since Oct 2019 and is part of a physician group using standard electronic medical records, it would be wise to stay within that group for any specialists you may need to see so that they will have immediate access to all electronic medical records related to your illness.
