A: No, Missouri law 475.120, RSMo (2000) does not apply to a behavioral health unit of a nursing home. The law specifically states that it applies to "all nursing homes in Missouri." A behavioral health unit of a nursing home is not a separate nursing home. It is a part of a nursing home that is specifically designed to care for people with behavioral health needs. The law also states that it applies to "all residents of nursing homes." This includes residents of behavioral health units of nursing homes. However, the law does not apply to the behavioral health unit itself. For personalized legal advice tailored to your unique circumstances, it's advisable to consult with an attorney.
