Q: Ticketed for doing 85 in a 70 in the highway
I was ticketed for doing 85 in a 70. I don’t live in TN and the officer gave me a ticket with an option to pay online as well as a court date “if I want to fight it”. The ticket has no amount due but has a box checked stating that I don’t have to appear and can mail in a guilty plea as well as the money required on the ticket. I’m very confused.
A: Call the Court Clerk for pay instructions. But that is a guilty plea and will add points to your DL. You could hire a TN attorney to try to get it diverted and dismissed or no points, requiring your appearance in Court.
