Q: can an estate sales company be sued for a fall on the property

was hired to handle an estate sale both my contract and my listings and posting all stated that we the company are not responsible for any accidents on the property , we always make sure all is safe we post signs add tape and caution tape , everything to keep people safe , but in one of my estates in the garage which signs were posted to be careful on the steps and blue tape was put down , a lady and her husband were looking at item in a small section and she was walking back wards and fell and hit her head , her husband was watching her as she did it and he came running in the house asking for the owner which we did not give info , now she is trying to sue us , but again , we have all contracts that stated we are not responsible for accidents and to be careful in the home , we took all precautions to make sure the whole home was safe , she seen the blue tape but when stepping backwards she missed the lip on the step off landing and feel , that is her fault not ours .

A: A Michigan attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a week. They can sue - there's nothing to stop them. In such settings, attorneys will usually name all possible parties. A local attorney should advise here - after reading the contract you have with the homeowner, the measures you took to ensure a safe setting, who is insured/who is not, and other details. Good luck
