Philadelphia, PA asked in Family Law for Pennsylvania

Q: Is a customary for CPS to designate a family member for adult supervision during a sexual abuse investigation?

My friend is saying that he is either being required or being asked to stay with her sister-in-law‘s family his brother was removed from the home due to sexual abuse allegations I one of his kids according to my friend none of them can leave the house. I’m not sure if this is the CPS thing until the investigations over, or if he’s not telling me something

A: We here really know nothing of the matter of which this writer speaks. This appears to be a dependency proceeding with either an upcoming shelter hearing or perhaps after a shelter hearing. We do not know which. The shelter appears to be the children's home, and the male parent is excluded on the basis of a sexual abuse allegation. The question is whether CPS ("Youth Services" in Pennsylvania) can do this.

Yes, youth services can do this either on an emergency basis or with a court order after a shelter hearing. The general policy in operation these days in Pennsylvania is to have youth services do the best it can to keep the children with loved ones if loved one are available. An at-home stay with an exclusion of the accused parent can happen in the course of dependency proceeding.

As to any other detail, we cannot opine as there is not enough information here.
