Salt Lake City, UT asked in Health Care Law for Utah

Q: I need back surgery. My quality of life is nonexistent. Due to concerns about my heart. I'm being refused surgery.

I've had a heart transplant, due to a viral infection. I can not return to work, until I can stand and walk. Spinal decompression surgery is absolutely needed. Why is my informed consent for surgery, being disregarded and I am forced to remain in pain and in a state of depression with feelings of giving up.

A: A Utah attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for four weeks. This may be a medical decision more than a legal one. You could discuss with other medical providers for their opinions. A healthcare attorney might also be able to assist in identifying and analyzing options. Good luck
