Youngsville, LA asked in Traffic Tickets for Louisiana

Q: Is there a law, regulation or Code Of Conduct that a Louisiana Police Officer must follow in regards to Radar Usage?

My question is, does an Officer radaring have to be a certain distance from the Speed Limit sign , if there’s a change in limit?

Speed Limit Prior to Entering 40 MPH Zone : 65 MPH

Distance the officer is from Speed Limit Sign : 345 Feet

Officer radared me & issued a ticket to me at 54 MPH and slowing down upon entering the 40 MPH zone.

100 to 150 feet or so before being vertically even with the officer I was at 40 MPH. (Hiding in the pitch black of course)

The officer followed me from a distance for half a mile to a mile, witnessing me doing 40 MPH, then speeds up behind me, turning on his lights to issue me a speed citation of 54 in a 40.

The officer has also left the “Location” part on the ticket blank.
