Q: Can I sue a restaurant for negligence regarding my mother’s death while on the job?
My mom passed out last October on the job and never recovered. We were told by multiple sources that no one did anything to help her and no basic life support was provided. We were also told that the employees were told not to touch her. They let her lay there untouched until EMS arrived. She suffered from a subarachnoid hematoma aneurysm. Emergency contacts were not called by management and the restaurant never closed that day even though some patrons witnessed what was going on. This has weighed heavily on me and my siblings because she gave that place 20 years of her life and was a great and well respected employee. We feel that had some type of BLS been performed, we would still have our mother because she was only 52 and her overall health was good.
