As a 17 year old, I forged a notarized letter of parental permission to travel internationally as an unsupervised minor. All information on the document was real, but it was without the knowledge of my parents or the Notary Public. I did this to travel to Ukraine where I could volunteer where needed because I couldn't stand to see the atrocities on TV and just hang a flag like everyone else. I stayed during my summer break and returned to complete my senior year of high school. Now that I'm back, I realize it was illegal, but I don't know to what extent or how I will be penalized. I am also now a legal adult after returning.
