Q: Can a daycare terminate a care without warning and keep your money?
I'm a single dad of two young toddlers. I enrolled my kids into a small daycare and paid them a month upfront. They backed out of taking my kids last minute several times (one such time was 30 minutes before I had to clock in). I told them I don't want to have my kids in there anymore and I want the money back outside of the days they actually watched the kids. Of the two weeks I tried to get them to watch them, they followed through a total of three times, and anytime they couldn't they didn't tell me until after 8 p.m.
Most recently, I checked in in advance to see if they would be good to watch them the following day/ they told me they were out of state for two weeks and gave me no prior heads up to this.
Can I take them to court to pay me back the money they didn't watch them? Lost wages? Etc etc
