My boyfriend was a passenger in a vehicle that was stop because of no tags. The officers detained all 3 people in the vehicle, searched it because the vehicle matched the description of a theft a few weeks earlier. They took all 3 to jail, would not allow any phone call or tell them why they were being arrested and would not tell any of the family members and info at all about why they were detained for almost 2 days. These 3 men didn't resist, or were disruptive in any manner. Is this legal? We only knew they were in jail because the driver sent a text to a relative to send a copy of insurance. And then wasn't heard from for about 10 hrs. And we started calling the jail and hospital for accidents
