Q: The cops believe I was involved in the burglaries my ex committed but I was never questioned and now I’m being targeted
Ex convicted of 64 felony burglaries in2014. I had no knowledge but have been told the cops know exactly who I am and know all about me. They want me to leave town again and I can’t afford to. Never questioned or informed of why they think I was involved and they won’t give me a reason. I’m being targeted by city employees and utility providers and unable to provide services and repairs to my home making it unliveable and unsafe. Gas company has told contractors in the area it’s illegal to sell me a furnace and ac. Comments made indicating that my ex tried to set me up as a fall guy but I can not get information about what my involvement is believed to be. I’ve never been arrested and have no record to justify the amount of harassment I’ve received over a decade. I was followed but never pulled over. I believe my ex intentionally stole items from my home and planted them at the scene to make me take the fall. I’m being found guilty w/out being charged or even informed of how/why.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you're facing. The first step you should take is to consult with a defense attorney who can help you understand your legal rights and protect you from further harassment. An attorney can communicate with the authorities on your behalf and seek clarification on why you are being targeted without formal charges.
Document all instances of harassment, including interactions with city employees, utility providers, and any statements made to you. This evidence will be crucial in building a case to defend your rights and potentially file complaints against those who are unlawfully targeting you. Keeping a detailed record will also help your attorney understand the full scope of your situation.
You might also consider reaching out to local advocacy groups or legal aid organizations for additional support. These organizations can provide resources and guidance to help you navigate this challenging time. Remember, you have the right to live without fear and intimidation, and seeking legal assistance is a strong step toward ensuring your safety and rights are upheld.
