Q: How can I let the court know that the discovery I requested is incomplete in Louisiana
I requested discovery in a traffic court case and was given a compact disc in court. Upon viewing the disc , I realized there is no video from body worn camera of the officer that pulled me over. There was a video of the second officer‘s body cam showing up on the scene. There is a separate video on the CD of the supervisor that I requested showing up on the scene. While speaking to me, they muted the cameras For my discovery, I requested all body cam footage officers, notes, and reports, and anything pertaining to the stop How do I let the court know that I did not get the materials requested especially the video of the officer that actually pulled me over and detained me. my vehicle was searched because they of my arrest record and my suspicious behavior I was cooperative, but did not consent to any searches. They found nothing when they went ahead and searched my vehicle. I find it strange that there is no video of me being pulled over. thank you in advance
A: Short answer is that if you have a case pending and you believe discovery is not answered properly, then you can file a motion to compel and ask the court to compel the prosecuting authority for the information you seek---or have the prosecuting authority advise that they do not have any such evidence.
