Killeen, TX asked in Child Custody and Child Support for Georgia

Q: Can I terminate my rights?

I had a baby out of wedlock and she put me on child support but won’t let me see the child. They see me as a donor? Can I terminate parental rights to terminate the support?

A: Terminating your parental rights will not terminate a child support order, nor will it relieve you of the financial responsibility of paying child support. It will simply mean you have no access to the child and no relationship.

A: No, you cannot just terminate your rights to avoid paying child support.
