Mattoon, IL asked in Uncategorized for Illinois

Q: If a dcfs case against me was unfounded do I have to continue intact services?

Intact services have been very unhelpful and I've been threatened and harassed a this point. I also believe they withheld part of our case from us.. there's something really odd going on.

A: If the DCFS case against you was deemed unfounded, you generally should not be required to continue with Intact Family Services. However, it’s important to review the details of your case and any agreements you may have signed with the agency. Sometimes, these services are offered as voluntary, but they can also be mandated in specific circumstances, even if the allegations were unfounded.

Since you feel threatened and harassed, it’s essential to document these incidents and consider seeking legal advice. A lawyer can help you understand your rights and determine whether you’re obligated to continue with services or if you have grounds to stop participating. They can also assist you in addressing any concerns regarding information being withheld.

If something feels off or if you're uncomfortable with the situation, trust your instincts and take action. You have the right to protect yourself and your family, and no one should make you feel unsafe during this process.
