Fairfield, IA asked in Insurance Defense for Iowa

Q: I need a lawyer that handles accident. Insurance claims involving one vehicle and no injury

I hit a deer on the 29th of July. My insurance company is more or less trying to claim that I am committing insurance fraud. They are dragging their feet. I hit a deer on my way to the emergency room was hospitalized due to me. Having congested, heart failure This is the only vehicle I own. I've had to drive it to Iowa City, 2 heart doctor appointments. I've had surgery, cannot even open my passenger side. Doors, I have to jump through the window. I am 58 years old. I have a perfect driving record. I've been with them for 5 years. No claims. Only one other claim in my life. Because a tree fell on my car. I have been through so much in the last 30 days with them. But still, I have not got an estimate or even that they were, I are gonna cover my track. This is the only vehicle I own. I live in the middle of nowhere. I have medical problems, doctor's appointments. I cannot do this much longer.I don't know what to do

A: An Iowa attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a week, and it looks like your vehicle is compromised for a month. I'm sorry for your ordeal in trying to get your claim processed. If you're being accused of fraud, it's possible the claim could drag on, depending on how the carrier chooses to handle things (setting up recorded statement, etc.) One option could be to consider setting up a consult with a local attorney if your claim is going nowhere to discuss your best and most cost-effective options. Good luck
