Aurora, IL asked in Traffic Tickets for Illinois

Q: I got a ticket for missing front plate violation while my car was parked in chicago downtown.

This is a new car and i had just replaced the temp. rear plates with the ones i recvd. from DMV the other plate was kind of bent and i was not able to fix it in the first attempt. I had also applied for a new set of plates. Can i appeal this? and is this a moving violation and can it affect my insurance rates?

A: Take a photo of the plate, go to court and prove you are in compliance and probably get the ticket dropped. It is not a violation that would be recorded to your driving record. It’s kind of ridiculous waste of time on the cop's behalf though.
