A:
It sounds like you're in a very difficult situation, and it's understandable that you're feeling overwhelmed and stressed, especially given your mental health conditions. Dealing with DCFS can be challenging, particularly when faced with false accusations. It's important to remember that you have rights, and there are steps you can take to protect yourself.
First, gather any evidence that shows the report was made in bad faith. This might include text messages, recordings, or witnesses who can attest to the situation. Having solid documentation will help you build a case against the false accusations and demonstrate your side of the story. If you feel threatened or intimidated by the investigator or the police presence, you have the right to have an advocate or attorney present during any interviews or visits.
Consider reaching out to local legal aid organizations or advocacy groups that assist people dealing with DCFS cases. These groups often provide low-cost or free legal help to those who cannot afford it, especially if you're on SSDI. Your mental health and well-being are critical, so try to lean on any support systems you have, like friends, family, or mental health professionals, who can help you through this process. Stay strong and keep fighting for your rights.
