Cleveland, TN asked in Traffic Tickets and Car Accidents for Tennessee

Q: My boyfriend was driving home from work in Dec 23 and dozed off behind the wheel. He woke up in time to swerve and avoid

hitting someone, so he kept going. Someone called it in, he learned what had happened and he went to court, plead guilty to driving left of center and leaving the scene, he also lost his job as he was driving a company vehicle. Now, almost 9 months later, he received a letter from the state revoking his license. Can anything be done to avoid this? It was truly an accident and he took responsibility and feels horrible. The website says even a restricted license won’t be granted? But he is almost 42, and has to be able to work/drive to his job. We are in major panic mode. Any insight is appreciated.

A: He needs to talk to DOS immediately about his MVR. There may be problems that can be paid off. An administrative hearing might help also. Hiring a lawyer quickly may help.
